Senator Kabiru Marafa (Zamfara Central) has welcomed the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to intervene in the crisis between the two APC divisions in the state.
The senator said barring the parallel executives of the APC in Zamfara State from the exercise was the right thing to do.
In his words,
“That was the most natural, sensible thing to do. The APC is based primarily on the rule of law. The basic foundation and supporting pillar of APC is respect for the rule of law. This is what I have been clamouring for before now. I am happy that the NWC, at the end of the day, has done the right thing. It is better late than never.”
He added that the NWC had only obeyed the court directing both the Yari and the Marafa factions to “maintain the status quo and not take any steps that would render nugatory the subject matter of the litigation.”
