Senator Peter Nwaoboshi on Friday got an interim freedom from the Lagos State division of the Federal High Court on self-recognizance until the commencement of his trial.
Mr. Nwaoboshi, representing Delta North Senatorial district in the National Assembly was charged with an alleged fraud of N322m.
The presiding justice, Mohammed Idris, however, instructed him to get two sureties who will each sign a bail bond of N50m within 72 hours.
Nwaoboshi was also asked to deposit his passport in the custody of the court, pending the conclusion of the case.
The case was adjourned by Justice Idris to June 13 and 20, 2018 for proper trial.
