NED NWOKO CHARGES DELEGATES ON GOOD LEADERSHIP CHOICE

Nigerian billionaire businessman, Prince Ned Nwoko has urged Nigerians to hold party delegates accountable for the quality of leaders in the build up to the Primary elections.

Recounting the cycle of delegate induced situation, the Anioma Prince charged both citizens and the media to prevail on delegates to shun politics of money and create enabling environment for the right people to aspire for leadership in the country so as to engender required growth and development in the country.

Speaking at a Press briefing organized by his Malaria Eradication Project in commemoration of the World Malaria Day, Ned who has been the torch bearer in the project of malaria eradication in Africa, espressos his worries on the continuous rampaging of the disease especially in Africa which according to the World Health Organization (WHO)’s latest report, there was an estimate of 241 million malaria cases and 627,000 malaria deaths — mostly of children under five — worldwide in 2020.

The 2020 figure represents about 14 million more cases in 2020, compared to 2019, and 69,000 more deaths.

Malaria has continued to be a major threat globally and Africa region carries a disproportionately high share of the global malaria burden. In 2020, the region was home to 95% of malaria cases and 96% of malaria deaths. Children under 5 accounted for about 80% of all malaria deaths in the Region.

The Anioma Prince emphasized on the economic benefits of adopting Sanitation and Waste Management as an intervention for Malaria Eradication.

He maintained “Aside sanitation as a means to end malaria in Nigeria, with a proper waste management system and recycling plants in each senatorial district of Nigeria, we could generate enough electricity to power Nigeria through the waste to power plants”.

In addition to sanitation, his foundation is also proposing fumigation and aerial spraying of the length and breath of the country with an environmental friendly chemical.

Prince Ned also emphasized on the collaborative efforts of his foundation and vaccine development partners in US for advanced clinical trials that will lead to a much more effective malaria vaccine with high efficacy. The Philanthropist and Antarctica explorer, Hon. Ned believes that if a Malaria Agency established by an Act of the National Assembly is set up, it will ensure a sustainable eradication of malaria in Nigeria.

Ned further underlined the activities of his Foundation; Prince Ned Nwoko Malaria Foundation as Advocacy for a Bill at the National Assembly, to create a malaria Management/Eradication Agency in the country, Sponsoring research for the creation of Malaria Vaccines and campaigns, sensitization and awareness of the general public for hygiene consciousness and environmental safety practices to fight the continuous spread of the scourge as he insists the fight against malaria is a collective effort.

The billionaire businessman also stressed the need for a working Government in place, refuse recycling plants in all the senatorial districts of the country where proper disposal of refuse can be channeled to bear positive fruits such as raw materials processing for boosting production, eco-friendly compost production to boost agricultural produce and bio-fuel as well as power generation which is more eco-friendly.

He recapitulated the numerous benefits of such national projects emphasizing on the most beneficial which is Power generation.

By calculation, a plant in each of the senatorial district will create an avenue for the generation of not less than 11000mw additional to the paltry 4000mw currently serving the nation.

Hon. Ned Nwoko’s malaria eradication project is the only and first of its kind that’s independently funded in the country which spurred the Antarctica awareness in a bid to further eradicate malaria from Africa in totality.

His endless passion to continue in uplifting humanity is unprecedented.

This is the reason why I celebrate excellence and Ned symbolizes excellence.
